Florida Man Arrested by NYPD for High-Rise Chair Toss Captured on Video

Additional Coverage:

Morgan Wallen isn’t the only individual making headlines for tossing chairs from elevated structures – a recent incident involves a man in New York caught on video doing the very same. Footage displaying a wooden chair plummeting from a skyscraper in New York City has circulated across social media platforms, sparking widespread concern due to its sheer danger. Moreover, this chair wasn’t the only object the individual is accused of throwing from the building.

The New York Police Department has apprehended a 33-year-old man originally from South Florida. He’s accused of throwing the chair, among other furniture items, from a 20th floor terrace in midtown Manhattan. The list of items reportedly thrown by the man includes tables and benches, as well as what seem to be some panels, all of which were also captured descending towards the ground in videos.

Fortunately, there were no injuries reported following these reckless actions. The individual in question now faces a variety of charges, among them, third-degree burglary, first-degree reckless endangerment, third-degree criminal mischief, and second-degree criminal trespassing.

This recent event echoes the arrest two months prior of Morgan Wallen, who faced reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct charges after allegedly throwing a chair off the rooftop of Chief’s, a six-story bar in Nashville, while supposedly intoxicated. Wallen later expressed regret over his actions and stated he had made amends.

As of now, there hasn’t been any indication that the man from Florida has followed Wallen’s example in making amends. Regardless, this serves as a dangerous reminder to always be aware of your surroundings, especially when below.
