American figure skater Amber Glenn has made history by becoming the first American woman to win the Grand Prix Final in 14 years.
Glenn, 25, has been unbeaten this season and capped her success with a victory in Grenoble, France. She admitted to feeling imposter syndrome, but is now proud to have her hard work recognized.
Despite pain from a previous injury, Glenn delivered a strong free skate, including a triple axel and a total score of 212.07.
Japanese skaters Mone Chiba and Kaori Sakamoto finished second and third, respectively.
The United States could win two more titles on Saturday, with Ilia Malinin leading the men’s event and Madison Chock and Evan Bates leading the ice dance.
