Indiana man gets 130 years for double murder

Additional Coverage:

Richard Allen, a pharmacist from Indiana, has been sentenced to 130 years in prison for murdering two teenage girls in 2017.

Liberty German, 14, and Abigail Williams, 13, were found dead near their hometown of Delphi. Their case drew national attention after Libby recorded audio and a video of a possible suspect on her phone.

Allen was convicted last month based on evidence linking his gun to the scene and his alleged confessions while in prison. Despite receiving many leads, police focused on Allen only in 2022.

Libby’s grandfather expressed gratitude for the verdict, while the local sheriff acknowledged the families’ long wait for justice. However, he emphasized that the conviction cannot bring back the girls.

Defense attorneys argued that Allen was mentally unwell when he confessed, but prosecutors presented evidence suggesting he had confessed multiple times.
