Jane Fonda Earns Actors’ Guild Lifetime Award

Legendary actress and activist Jane Fonda has been awarded the Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement Award. The 86-year-old will receive the prestigious honor at the Screen Actors Guild Awards in February.

Fonda has had an illustrious career spanning over six decades, winning numerous awards including two Oscars, two BAFTA Awards, an Emmy, and seven Golden Globes. Her performances in films such as “Klute” and “Coming Home” have left an indelible mark on cinema.

Beyond her acting, Fonda is known for her unwavering activism. She has been a vocal advocate for gender equality, civil rights, and environmental protection. Last year, she celebrated her 85th birthday by raising $1 million for a Georgia non-profit that empowers children to make healthy choices.

SAG-AFTRA President Fran Drescher praised Fonda as a “trailblazer” and honored her for her “artistic brilliance” and “legacy of activism and empowerment.”

The Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement Award recognizes actors who embody the highest ideals of the profession. Fonda will join an esteemed group of past recipients, including Robert De Niro, Meryl Streep, and Morgan Freeman.

The 31st annual Screen Actors Guild Awards will be streamed live on Netflix on February 23rd at 8 p.m. ET.
