Long-Lost Child Found After 7 Decades

A child abducted from Oakland in 1951 has been found alive after his niece’s DNA test led to his discovery.

Luis Albino was just 6 when he vanished from a park. His mother searched tirelessly for him, but authorities had no leads.

DNA Breakthrough

Years later, Albino’s niece, Alida Alequin, took a DNA test. The results matched a man on the East Coast.

Alequin contacted Oakland police, who reopened the case. DNA samples confirmed that the man was indeed Albino.

Life on the East Coast

Albino, now a retired firefighter, spent his life believing he was someone else’s child. He flew to California to meet his family for the first time in over 70 years.

Emotional Reunion

Albino reunited with his brother, Roger, before Roger’s passing in August. Alequin said the brothers hugged tightly and discussed their shared past.

Closure and Hope

Alequin believes her grandmother, who always kept a photo of Albino, would be overjoyed. She urges other families to never give up hope and to use DNA testing as a valuable tool in their search for missing loved ones.
