Local Olympian Saves Drowning Woman

Brazilian Olympian Bruno Lobo, an orthopedic doctor and two-time Pan American Games champion, rescued a woman who was drowning off the coast of Brazil on January 10th.

Heroic Act

Lobo, who competed in kite surfing at the 2024 Paris Olympics, was training when he noticed the woman struggling in the water. He quickly approached her using his kite and calmed her down.

With the help of his gear, he safely brought her back to shore. Lifeguards then provided further assistance.

Humble Gratitude

Lobo credited God for allowing him to help the woman, saying, “All honor and glory to Him.” He also urged caution when swimming in unfamiliar waters due to strong currents.

World Sailing praised Lobo’s heroic actions, commending his quick thinking and use of his kite to save the woman’s life.
