Meghan Markle Faces Renewed Criticism Over Podcast Name

Duchess Meghan Markle finds herself once again facing public scrutiny, this time over the name of her upcoming podcast, “Confessions of a Female Founder.” The announcement, made via Instagram, was met with accusations of idea theft, with social media users pointing to existing podcasts and YouTube channels with similar names.

One user on X (formerly Twitter) alleged Markle copied a podcast titled “Confessions of a CEO,” while another highlighted a YouTuber, Kady Méite, who uses the exact same name, “Confessions of a Female Founder,” for her channel.

However, Méite defended the Duchess, stating that she believes the similarity is coincidental. She expressed appreciation for the support but voiced concern over the negativity directed towards Markle, emphasizing that she didn’t want to contribute to dragging another woman down. Méite clarified that while she has experienced having her work copied in the past, she doesn’t believe this is the case here.

The Duchess’s new podcast, set to premiere April 8th, will feature conversations with successful female entrepreneurs. Markle described the project on Instagram as “eye-opening, inspiring…and fun!”

This new venture comes on the heels of her recently renewed Netflix series, “With Love, Meghan,” which will return for a second season despite receiving largely negative reviews. Markle’s lifestyle brand, “As Ever,” has also faced accusations of logo plagiarism.
