Tragic Plane Crash in South Korea

A Jeju Air Boeing 737-800 flight has skidded off a runway and crashed into a fence at Muan International Airport in South Korea, killing at least 167 people.

Initial reports indicate that the crash was caused by a malfunctioning landing gear. The plane, carrying 175 passengers and six crew members, landed at 9:07 a.m. local time.

Emergency workers rescued two injured crew members, but the remaining passengers and crew are feared dead. The plane was returning from Thailand.

The National Fire Agency has retrieved the flight data recorder, but the cockpit voice recorder is still missing. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
