Dragon Crew-9 Arrives at International Space Station

On Sunday, the Dragon Crew-9 team successfully docked with the International Space Station (ISS). Colonel Nick Hauge of the U.S. Space Force and Russian cosmonaut Aleksandr Gorbunov boarded the ISS, greeted by crew members including NASA astronauts Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore.

Stranded Astronauts Rescued

Williams and Wilmore were stranded on the ISS after their Boeing Starliner spacecraft malfunctioned. The Crew-9 mission was reduced to two members to accommodate their return to Earth in February.

Handover Period Begins

The ISS crew will undergo a weeklong handover period to prepare Hauge and Gorbunov for their mission. They will join Expedition 72, bringing the total number of crew members on the ISS to 11.

SpaceX Launch Issue

The Crew-9 Dragon was launched from Florida on Saturday. However, SpaceX suspended future launches after an issue with the second-stage rocket during re-entry. The cause is still being investigated.

ISS Mission Continues

The ISS has been continuously manned for 24 years by crews from around the world. The arrival of Crew-9 marks the continuation of this international scientific endeavor.
