Tragedy has struck the surfing community with the untimely passing of Giulia Manfrini at the age of 36.

During a surfing expedition in Indonesia, Manfrini encountered a fatal accident. A swordfish leapt out of the water and pierced her chest, inflicting a severe wound. Despite efforts to reach a nearby health clinic, she succumbed to her injuries.

Manfrini was an avid surfer and former professional snowboarder. She also served as a surf instructor and co-founded AWAVE Travel. Her passion for surfing and snow sports was evident in her online presence, where she was known as a “surf frother” and “pow addict.”

Manfrini’s passing follows the recent death of surfer Jorge Alvarado, who died at age 49 after hitting his head while surfing in Florida. Their deaths serve as a reminder of the inherent risks associated with water sports.
