Suspect Arrested in Michigan Home Invasion Murder

Carlos Jose Hernandez, 37, has been charged with murder in connection to a home invasion in Rochester Hills, Michigan.

The victim, 72-year-old Hussein Murray, was found dead in his basement. His wife, who was tied up during the incident, reported that the suspects had posed as utility workers the night before.

Hernandez, who was arrested in Louisiana, is seen in home security footage wearing a utility uniform and holding a clipboard.

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the extradition of Hernandez and urges anyone with information about the second suspect to contact them.

Targeted Attack Suspected

Sheriff Michael J. Bouchard believes the attack was “very targeted” and not random. Murray, who owned a jewelry and pawn shop, is described as a respected community member.

The sheriff’s office reminds residents to be cautious of individuals claiming to be from utility companies and to ask for identification.
