Taylor Swift and Prince William Perform ‘Livin’ on a Prayer’ with Bon Jovi

Additional Coverage:

Over ten years back, an unforgettable collaboration took place when Taylor Swift, Bon Jovi, and Prince William united for a performance. This memorable event wasn’t the start of a peculiar joke but actually unfolded during a charity event at Kensington Palace in London, back in November 2013.

The moment came alive again when a 30-second excerpt of this performance resurfaced on social platform X, introduced by user @DigAdvice on June 21. In the clip, Bon Jovi, aged 62, kickstarts the moment with his guitar, playfully coaxing, “And just maybe the karaoke king could step up and sing a few words.”

As Bon Jovi launches into his iconic 1986 anthem “Livin’ on a Prayer,” he persuades a 42-year-old Prince William to join on stage. Swift, then 34, and William eagerly flank the rock star.

Swift is seen vibing to the rhythm while William appears a bit reserved, laughing and adjusting his bow tie until the trio belts out the chorus together, ending the performance with a high-five.

Following the nostalgic flashback, Prince William recently celebrated his 42nd birthday at Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras Tour’ alongside his children.

Swift shared a behind-the-scenes glimpse into that night during her 2014 interview on The Graham Norton Show. She recounted how Bon Jovi had hinted at William’s karaoke enthusiasm before the cameras rolled.

Fast forward 11 years, Bon Jovi reflected on the iconic moment, during a talk with The Independent, praising Swift for her spontaneity. He appreciated her for pulling off that impromptu performance, highlighting it as a cherished memory that saw the future king of England and a pop sensation come together to sing his track.

William also reminisced about the viral incident on Apple Fitness+’s “Time to Walk” podcast in 2021. He detailed the moment Swift persuaded him to join her on stage, a decision he jokingly regrets to this day, yet couldn’t refuse. Despite feeling out of his comfort zone, William knew backing out wasn’t an option, showcasing a lighter, relatable side to the royal persona.
