Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine Back in Custody

Tekashi 6ix9ine, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, has been arrested once again and is scheduled to appear in court in New York on Tuesday.

Hernandez, 28, was taken into custody for an undisclosed violation of his supervised release. He was released from prison in 2020 and placed under supervision after pleading guilty to racketeering and conspiracy to commit murder in 2018.

In January, Hernandez was arrested in the Dominican Republic for domestic violence allegations. He was released on bail but is now facing a violation of his supervised release.

Hernandez rose to fame in 2017 with his hit single “Gummo.” In 2018, he was indicted on federal charges, including racketeering, drug trafficking, and weapons offenses. He testified against his former gang, Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods, as part of a plea deal.

Hernandez’s cooperation led to the conviction of several co-defendants and helped reduce his prison sentence. However, he is now facing potential consequences for violating the terms of his supervised release.
