Texas Longhorns Triumph in SEC Debut with Arch Manning’s Stellar Performance

The University of Texas Longhorns secured their first Southeastern Conference (SEC) victory with a 35-13 triumph over Mississippi State on Saturday. Quarterback Arch Manning led the charge, throwing for 324 yards and two touchdowns while adding 33 rushing yards and another score.

Despite a shaky start and some self-inflicted errors, Manning’s confidence grew throughout the game. He said, "I think I had a little bit more fun today even though it was a little rocky."

Coach Steve Sarkisian acknowledged the challenges faced by the offense, including two fumbles and several penalties. However, he commended the team’s ability to overcome adversity and start the season 5-0.

Texas outgained Mississippi State 522 yards to 294, but the game was marred by a record number of penalties and lengthy reviews. Sarkisian said, "It was hard for the game to get a rhythm to it."

Manning expressed his readiness for Ewers’ return from injury, saying, "I’ll be ready for when my number’s called if they need me."

With an off week ahead, the Longhorns will prepare for the upcoming Red River Rivalry against Oklahoma and the highly anticipated matchup against Georgia in Austin.
