Wendy Williams Out Again After Police Called

Additional Coverage:

Former talk show host Wendy Williams is once again making headlines, this time for another evening out on the town. This follows a recent dinner with her niece that resulted in a call to the NYPD after the facility where Williams resides reported her absence.

Williams, who is under court-ordered conservatorship due to her ongoing struggles with Graves’ disease and lymphedema, was seen Saturday night in New York City. Dressed in a stylish fur-trimmed coat, Chanel bag, and boots, she appeared in good spirits.

The recent incident occurred when Williams’ niece, Alex Finnie, took her to dinner at Tucci, an Italian restaurant in Manhattan. The Coterie, the facility where Williams has been living for the past eight months, filed a police report alleging that Williams had been “kidnapped.” Williams, however, maintains that she had permission to leave.

In a statement following the incident, Williams expressed frustration, saying, “Clearly, they are lying to me when they say I can go out and do what I want to do.” She has publicly stated her desire for more freedom and control over her life.

Williams recently gave a pre-recorded interview to The View, discussing her health, future plans, and the restrictions imposed by her conservatorship. She expressed her belief that she is being unfairly held back and wants the guardianship removed.

“I’ve been doing important things all of my life,” she stated, “and these two people don’t look like me. They don’t talk like me.

They don’t act like me. They will never be me.

I need them to get off my neck!”

Williams has been actively seeking to regain her independence, making appearances on various programs, including The Breakfast Club and Good Day New York. She has also questioned her placement in the Coterie, stating that the unit is meant for elderly clients and expressing disbelief, “I’m 60!

… Why am I here!?” The former host hopes to return to television but feels her guardianship is preventing her from pursuing these opportunities.
